NÖRTY CLUB COLLECTIVE
Nörty Club Collective is all female DJ collective/Event runners made up of CANDI, Evo, and Jousey, aiming to bring inclusivity and diversity in the electronic music scene. With three distinct styles, specialising in underground bass music, the genre blending achieved between the three allows the group to meld sets to suit diverse audiences across different occasions. Cleverly curated nights out that heavily focuses on a blend of House, Bass/Club, UK garage, UK Funky, Breaks, Dubstep and Footwork Techno/Jungle. Shows curated by Nörty Club Collective are not to be missed out on.
CANDI unites her passion for people with her innate ability to draw a crowd to the dance floor. Having grown up on 80’s pop and techno, and integrating a healthy mix off of house, dubstep, and anything with a belting bassline – CANDI painstakingly curates multi-genre sets, offering something for everyone. CANDI not only has supported Sub Focus (UK), Paige Julia (NZ), and Frank Booker (NZ), but also hosts the flagship Breakfast Show on Radio One 91FM, as well as the SRN award-winning electronic show, STOMPING GROUNDS.
Worlds collide with Evo. New Zealand-born, but Aussie raised, Evo is the culmination of a mixing pot of influences. Glitch hop, bush prog, and psytrance are but a few of the genres that Evo is drawn to. Known for her extensive knowledge of electronic music, she has most recently burst into the Ōtepoti underground scene, feeding into her love of garage and UK style dubstep. Deep cuts, funky chunky bass, and an oscillating dance floor are key indicators of an Evo set.
Crowd-control comes naturally to Jousey. Growing up as a multi-instrumentalist, Jousey’s understanding of groove and rhythm shines through in her sets. Jousey displays a technical profiency from years of appearing at NZ festivals, supporting international acts, and a club residency in Dunedin. Her sets are uniquely and heavily influenced by her Filipino upbringing and perspective. Euphoric, uptempo, and high-energy sets are indicative of a night led by Jousey’s curation.
