THE KALEIDOSCOPES
The Kaleidoscopes are a 4-piece, Auckland based band made up of William Maddison (lead vocals & bass guitar), Ned Gow (drums), brothers Freddie (guitar, keyboard & vocals) and Arthur Gillies (guitar & vocals).
Their style is centred around Rock, Pop, and Psychedelic fusion, with influences that range from The Smiths to Passion Pit.
Since forming in March 2012, The Kaleidoscopes have performed at a number of NZ festivals including Rhythm & Vines, Chronophium, Feast – Gisborne Wine & Food Festival and BW Summer festival and supported bands such as Ahoribuzz, Sola Rosa, The Exponents, Laughton Kora & The Thomas Oliver Band. In April 2013 they were invited to perform at Springscream festival in Taiwan via Skype. They were also part of the Upstairs @ Freeman & Grey series for New Zealand Music Month 2013.
The Kaleidoscopes won the November 2013 wildcard round of The Audience , with their song "Cherry Tree". Recorded at Roundhead studios, you can listen to the song here.
Cross Street is the latest single from The Kaleidoscopes and represents their most cohesive, progressive and ambitious undertaking to date. Developed with electronic producer SurenUnka (Beach Pigs), you can listen to the song here
